Align is for adults only
Align is a marriage app for people aged 18 and over. We don’t tolerate child sexual abuse or exploitation in any form, and we report it to the authorities.
Our standards
Zero tolerance
Any content or behaviour that sexualises, grooms, exploits or endangers a child is banned. That includes child sexual abuse material, and any attempt to contact a child through Align.
Adults only
You must be 18 or over to use Align. Registration refuses anyone whose date of birth makes them younger, and an account we find belongs to a child is closed.
Built to keep images out
Messages can’t carry pictures at all. Profile photographs are checked for one real adult face, and other members see them only once they’ve been introduced.
Hard to take elsewhere
The chat holds back phone numbers, links and usernames, so nobody can quietly move a conversation somewhere we can’t see it.
How to report a concern
In the app
Open the person’s profile or your conversation with them, choose Report, then “They may be under 18”, or the reason that fits. You can block them in the same step.
By email
Write to support@align-app.co.uk. You don’t need an account.
If a child is in danger
Call 999 in the UK, or your local emergency number, before anything else.
What we do with a report
We act at once
A report about a child is read before anything else. The account is suspended while we look into it, and closed if the concern is borne out.
We keep the evidence
The reported messages and details are kept safely for the police, never shown to anyone else.
We tell the authorities
We report child sexual abuse and exploitation to the National Crime Agency, and abuse images to the Internet Watch Foundation, and we work with the police on any investigation.
